A new classic
54 years lay between the presentation of the Beetle Cabriolet in 1949 and the introduction of the New Beetle Cabriolet in the spring of 2003. 54 years affected by scientific and technical progress - especially in the automotive industry. And yet the two vehicles have a great deal in common: they offer open-top driving pleasure to anyone and everyone.

Tradition and modernity
The New Beetle Cabriolet is the contemporary update of the original Beetle Cabriolet. With exterior design cues from its classic predecessor, the new model's inner values are entirely modern: the levels of safety, performance and comfort offered by the New Beetle Cabriolet set standards in its class.

Looking smart in any season
The New Beetle Cabriolet always looks a picture. Its powerful curves, the long wheelbase and wide track convey a sense of sporty dynamism. However, as soon as the soft top has been folded up and is lying flat but still visible on top at the rear, the New Beetle Cabriolet displays its own very particular charm. A trim strip running right around the car strikingly emphasises the transition between body and hood and the bottom edge of the windscreen.
