Beetle Cabriolet

  Full of drive

The range of engines for the New Beetle is impressive thanks to its low fuel consumption figures and extremely low levels of harmful emissions. This applies in particular to the 55 kW (75 bhp) and 75 kW (102 bhp) petrol engines (fuel consumption: 7.1 - 7.9 l/100km; CO2 emissions: 169 - 189 g/km). The 1.8 l turbo engine, delivering 110 kW (150 bhp), offers outstanding acceleration and sporty driving pleasure. And nor does the 2.0 l petrol engine, with its 85 kW (115 bhp) (fuel consumption: 8.1 - 9.4 l/100km; CO2 emissions: 194 - 224 g/km) leave anything to be desired in terms of dynamism. If you favour diesel engines you'll also find one in the New Beetle: the 1.9 l TDI engine with 77 kW (105 bhp) (fuel consumption: 5.4 l/100km; CO2 emissions: 143 g/km). And it goes without saying that all engines comply with the Euro 4 emissions standard.

  Perfect poise

The New Beetle has thought of everything in terms of safety. Anti-lock brakes (ABS) fitted as standard and the electronic stabilisation program (ESP) ensure optimum driving characteristics, even in difficult situations. The lightning-fast intervention of these systems in relation to the brakes and the engine management system ensures that the New Beetle always remains majestically and safely on course.

  Safely on course

The New Beetle offers an intelligent safety concept that is unequalled in its class. It also includes electronic brake-force distribution (EBD). This system provides optimum distribution of the braking force to all four wheels, and a significant shortening of the braking distance. As a result the New Beetle stays safely on track.
