Having successfully concluded the world finals of Exquisite Face of the Universe 2008, the Queen and the first 5 finalists from the finals (2006) from different parts of the world came back to Ghana to take part in the Catwalk for Charity. Donations raised during the Catwalk in Alisa Hotel Ridge on the 11th of December were distributed to children living with HIV/AIDS in the various orphanages in Accra. Please click through the gallery: 2009 05 29 VW Suran as the main prize in the final of "MTN DaViva Sew Project" Universal Motors Ltd co-sponsored the “MTN DaViva Sew Project” – TV reality show in search for the next “Fashion Star” and the next “Queen of the Runway”. The contest was broadcasted on GTV every Tuesday at 9 p.m. At the Grand Finale of the show which was held on the 29th of May at Ghana International Fair Centre the winner of the show received a brand-new VW Suran as the main prize. Please click through the gallery: 2009 05 14 Universal Motors Ltd. launches three new Volkswagen models Launching Ceremony of VW CC, VW Golf VI and VW Multivan was held in the Ghana International Trade Centre in the mid-May 2009. The Ceremony was part of Ghana Auto Expo'09 dedicated to "Making right automotive choice to ensure safety on our roads". Honoured guests of the ceremony included Hon. (Mrs) Dzifa Aku Attivor, Deputy Minister of Transportation of the Republic of Ghana and H.E. (Mr) Hans Christian Winkler, Consular of the Federal Republic of Germany. The theme of Ghana Auto Expo '09 was "Making the right automotive choices to ensure safety on our roads". The three new VW models (VW Golf VI, VW CC and VW Multivan) were also displayed for the public. Please click through the gallery. 2008 10 23 Face of the Universe 2008 Universal Motors Ltd. co-sponsored the "Face of the Universe 2008" contest. First, evening fashion event was held in Volkswagen Showroom, then, a parade with selected contestants and Volkswagen cars went through Accra, and lastly, before the final event at National Theatre, a bikini show took place at an island near the ocean. Please click through the gallery: 2008 10 09 Launching the Volkswagen Tiguan Universal Motors Limited, the sole authorised distributor of Volkswagen in Ghana, have launched the Volkswagen Tiguan at its' showroom on 9th of October. The launch was in collaboration with a fashion show, organised to raise funds for the people suffering from blinding trachoma in the Northern Region of Ghana.
