Driving innovative power
Seven different petrol engines are offered for the Passat - among them the two new, particularly fuel saving TSI-units with 90 kW (122 hp) and 118 kW (160 hp). There are numerous alternatives to the 75 kW (102 hp) basic engine: the four cylinder fuel stratified injection engines (FSI) offer 85 kW (115 hp), 110 kW (150 hp) with four-wheel 4MOTION and 147 kW (200 hp). A V6 FSI, also with four-wheel 4MOTION, completes the range. This engine has a 3.2 l cylinder capacity and thus pushes the Passat into the upper class team (fuel consumption: 6.6 - 9.8 l/100km; CO2-emission: 157 - 233 g/km)*.

Intelligent assistance
The electronic parking brake is a highly user-friendly safety boost. It is activated at the press of a button and releases automatically when you drive away, ensuring that the vehicle moves off smoothly and comfortably. When stopped at traffic lights or during hill-starting, the Auto Hold feature prevents the car from rolling back.

Safe monitoring
The adaptive cruise control system delivers clear safety benefits on the road: if a pre-defined safety distance to the vehicle ahead is infringed, the Passat automatically brakes to reduce the pre-set cruise control speed. When the road ahead is clear again the car accelerates automatically back up to the pre-set speed.

Dynamic vision
The intelligent bi-xenon headlights feature dynamic cornering lights and integral turning lights. They provide optimum illumination of the road ahead not only when cornering but also when turning at junctions and when manoeuvring.
